Program for January 14, 2010
Tom Savage starts the year out for us with a program on photographing in Africa. This includes where to go and what to expect. Plus, plan on seeing some of his terrific photography. Get your questions ready, or better yet, forward soe questions to Ron Shue ahead of time and it'll help Tom fine tune the program for what you are most interested in.
Program for February 11, 2010
Ron Shue follows up Tom with a program that he's compiling abour our National Parks. Aimed at encouraging us to expand our horizons, Ron's program will cover as many of the National Parks as possible. Information to be included is where they are located, what time of year is the best to visit, and what are some of the prime hotspots for photography. Just as with Tom, send Ron your questions in advance and he'll work them into the program. Competition Chair

Upcoming Outings
Here is a look ahead for outings and other events that will let you plan your calendar and covers a variety of topics that I hope will interest many.
-
Saturday, February 20, 2010: Hey all -- the weather's been fun and different lately and I hope you were able to make some use of it -- WELL -- I looked ahead to next weekend and it's supposed to be partly sunny and mid-50's -- so let's have an outing.
Here's the deal .. let's go up to the Hagerman Wildlife Refuge and see if we can photograph the migratory birds before they leave (if it isn't already too late)..
I've never been to Hagerman so we'll make it an afternoon trip only. We can get up there and scout out locations to shoot and hopefully have some good gatherings of birds late in the day with the good light.
If someone has experience and wants to show us the way -- please volunteer and we'll follow your lead.
The plan is -- next Saturday, February 20th let's meet at 1pm for lunch in Sherman at the "Cackle and Oink BBQ" 3210 Texoma Parkway, Sherman TX.
We'll eat and plan the afternoon --
Then head out to Hagerman (about 20 miles away) to shoot until the sun gives up the day -- if we are lucky the partly cloudy skies will give us a quality sunset.
We'll rejoin for dinner (TBD) and look at our work before heading back home.
Appropriate links for the outing are here:
You don't have to RSVP -- but it would be nice to know who to expect to join me in this outing. So please respond if you know you will make it.
Hope to see you all there --
I'll put it up on the Facebook page. Photoshop Basics Class
Your LMRA Camera Club continues it's photography education series with "Photoshop Basics" - introductory level training into the industry's standard for photo editing. This six hour course presented over two nights is scheduled for September 14th and 15th at the LMRA main clubhouse: 6:30pm to 9:30pm each night. "Photoshop Basics" provides the photographer the skills needed to get the most out of every image - crop, straighten, color, contrast, and sharpening. Additional content will also cover workflow, printing and speciality editing such as cloning and Black & White conversion. Attendees must be members of the LMRA Camera club and the cost of the class will be $25. Stop by the LMRA main club house and register for this class and join the LMRA camera club as well. Don't hesitate - take your photography to the next level now. For additonal information or if you have questions please contact Ron Shue (ronald.w.shue@lmco.com) or Reagan Ferguson (reagan.ferguson@lmco.com).
